One of the O-rings of the spark plug is worn which caused my oil leak.
Is this a minor problem?
Has anyone experienced it before?

How old is your car?
There is a TSB dated May of 1998. As follows:
"New O-Ring on Oil Protection Pipe
A new large end o-ring was introduced into production as of November 24, 1997, from M96/01 engine number:
66 W 02551
The new large end o-ring is red in color and made of material containing silicone. When performing oil protection pipe repairs on engines prior to the above engine number, the former large end o-ring (black)should be replaced with the new red o-ring.
Note: When removing the o-ring from the oil protection pipe, be careful not to damage or scratch the o-ring groove.
The small end o-ring is unchanged.
Parts: Part Number, Description
999 707 215 40 O-ring, 27.94 x 5.33 mm, new for large end (red)
999 707 406 40 O-ring, 25.07 x 2.62 mm, small end (black, unchanged)
999 707 405 40 O-ring, 27.94 x 5.33mm, former large end (black, no longer available)"

I think you are talking about 2 or 3 different things. The black plastic spark plug tubes have 2 O-rings on each tube, and they do sometimes leak. When that happens they are pulled out and the O-rings replaced. The tubes bridge the space from the cam cover to the head. There is no rubber O-ring on a spark plug.
This is a Boxster but a 996 has the same thing. Jeff
