R9001 - Tunnel side belt mount

R9003 - Outside side belt mounts. This is the one with the 2 piece spacer.

With the Schroth 6 point, the sub belts mount to the same point as the side belts. I think that's true for all 6 point belts.

OK, thanks. I thought you must have a different harness bar as I didn't have to fool with seat stops.

About the R9001 tunnel side belt mounts. I wasn't happy with the way the lap and sub belt clip into the opening on the R9001. I felt the opening was much too small, the clips didn't align right and the risk of the clips accidentally un-clipping too great. Maybe that's just me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> . I saw what B-K makes for the Corvette; it has two holes, one for each belt. I talked with other people who use the R9001 and they said it's common to enlarge the clip hole so two belt clips can attach and easily move and align. So I had a machine shop mill out the opening so the sides of the opening are now .135" at it's narrowest. I'm happy with how the belts clip in now; the sub belt clip can angle down towards the seat bottom and the lap belt clip can point upwards. I believe this part is still one of the strongest parts of the harness system, even after removing the metal.

You mean I may have to remove the seats again and mill the opening out? Bummer. The belts are arriving Wednesday. I'll see how they fit.

Kerry, I see your point. I could barely get the two clamps in on the tunnel side, much less orient them they way I feel they should be. As you said, sub-belt down and lap belt up. 0.135" huh? OK. It's off to the mill shop I go.

Seems like they could easily have designed one with a bigger hoop. Know any one that does have that design?

Thanks.

Sorry I'm so late with this, been out of town.

No, I don't. I had my dealer contact B-K to see if they would make a modified R9001 and they got no response. I had the dealer send a picture of what I'd done; again, no response.

Here's what mine looked like after they will milled out. I was hoping the shop wouldn't make the bottom of the opening thinner than the top, but I think they had to in order for it to fit. Notice the top part of the opening is not milled out, just the bottom.

You can call BK yourself. They made me a set of modified parts (shorter) for my GT3 seats.
