Post Where can I find the boat list?

My C4S was just completed production today and I went to check out the boat list at suncoast porsche and they redid their website and it is no longer there (at least not yet). Are there any other sites that have the boat list. This is great, the car had a completion date of 7/28...it's done 10 days early

Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, Bill H has left and the website is premature. Looks like they did a redesign, eliminated the newsletter Bill maintained, and therefore the port schedules are gone for now. I would suspect they'll return soon by someone else or another dealer.

In the meantime, expect your car to get on a boat within a week or so, then 12-14 days across the water (depending on your location - there are three possible port locations), then another 2-3 weeks at most for delivery (again, depending on your location).

I was lucky with mine - it finished, got on a boat within 8 days, hit port exactly two weeks later, and I live within a few hours of Charleston. My dealer sent a flatbed for it. It was off the boat on a Wednesday and in my hands Saturday.

Best of luck getting any sleep for the next few weeks!

Your dealer should be able to give you status updates weekly, but even those can be days late.

Has your dealer told you which coast it will ship to?
My C4S was completed June 12, left Germany on the "Golden Fan" on July 19th, sailed direct from Germany to San Diego via the Panama Canal, landing on July 8th. Assuming 10-14 days for processing and trucking to Vancouver, British Columbia, I should have it any day. Unfortunately, my dealer can't track the car from San Diego other than receiving the paper work. Some cars have landed at the dealer before the paperwork.
Its 5 weeks since I sold my 99 996C2 so I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. Its been a long wait since I ordered it on Jan 30th. In contrast, I bought my wife a new Audi A4...called the dealer on Tuesday after lunch, luckily he had the exact model I was looking for...made a deal Tuesday night and pick it up this afternoon (Thursday). Thats instant gratification.

It was ordered with the bundled package options so I assume it will be an 02. The car is actually for my Dad, it will be his first Porsche in 30 years. I did all the research and recommended the color and options so I consider myself a "co-waiter" Needless to say I am sure it will be one of the last 2002s and I will not tell him the 2003s will be arriving shortly, I don't want to take any of the excitement away. We slipped into a canceled spot at Champion Porsche in S. Florida on May 28th, so because of how it worked with the ordering and my parent’s current leases expiring, the timing of delivery should be perfect. So I hope it is safe to assume the car will be delivered before the Labor Day weekend since I have to take time off and schedule my trip to visit the car That's why I am trying to locate the port list, Champion told us the car would be delivered by mid August, I just hope that is true.

Eric&Cooper996 - I really appreciate the time breakdown of your actual cars. The dealer just gave approximates. It is nice to see some examples.

There will be only very minor changes to the 03's.
With the surging Euro vs the US Dollar I would expect a price increase. Hopefully the resale will be better than my 99 996C2, which incidentally ran flawlessly for 3 years, 50,000km, many track days. Only problems were the main seal, airbag/seatbelt sensor. It got better with age. i would probably still be driving it except I saw a C4S......

Just curious if Champion has provided you timely information along the way.

I ordered from Champion on June 3rd (Paul Householder) and have received zero infomation; not even a receipt for my deposit.

Ohsixx,

Champion has been great so far. Our salesman is Dan (I don't have his card in front of me right now so I am not sure of his last name)and he calls my dad at every new level of the production cycle. The car was supposed to be a June production and we took over the order on May 28th so when we ordered it Dan made sure to check to see if the changes were approved and then faxed the confirmation sheet to my dad. I don't know about the receipt on deposit, I think they just took down the CC # or made an impression of the card for their files. They did not charge the card so I don't think they can give a receipt unless they actually charge it. He has called my dad when he received the estimated production completion date (July 28th...10 days early) and then the confirmation of completion. He said he will call when the car is loaded onto the boat as well.

In my opinion Dan is the best sales guy there. Before placing the order I used to go to Champion anytime I was visiting my parents to look and Dan always came and talked to me, and had no problem spending quite a bit of time discussing the cars even though he knew I was not a buyer (I am only 24). I am happy we were able to thank him by finally placing an order with him.

I would assume you are still so early in the process that there is nothing to tell you and that is why your sales guy has not called.

Ohsixx,
Don't feel bad. My dealer has given me the same amount of info (zilch). I have been begging to find out what's going on, but they are very vague about what boat it's on and when it should arrive. Very Peculiar. It is supposed to arrive in port on July 23 and arrive at the dealership end of July for delivery. That's the best they've done. <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

My wife, who is fluent German, will be in Germany on a business trip during September.

That is when the information on my car will start to flow.

Tks.

My C2 hit the port on 7/8. Today I found out it was in Baltimore not San Diego, were it was originally suppose to go. My dealership is saying it was diverted due to an possible strike.

Has any one else on the west side of North America heard anything like this on a car they are waiting for?

I'm becoming very disappointed with how little information my dealership is able to give we regarding where the car is and when it will arrive. 10 days seems like a long time to realize that the car showed up at the "wrong" port.

Red face

The sad thing is ford so has them beat. When we order fords, albeit theough a fleet program with them, we can track every step of production from their web site. We get the VIN as soon as it is assigned and actually know more than the dealerships. PCNA has the info in a computer, they should get it onto the web. Would save the dealers alot of annoying phone calls

Or, you can simply wait until your car arrives. Like actually sleeping on Christmas eve and being able to stay awake on Christmas day to enjoy your gifts.

You guys are hysterical.
