Post Dreamworks PAG

Idling at Cincinnati airport waiting for a delayed flight back home to Chicago I began to think about what I wanted in my next 911 (model # 999 the way stocks are performing...)

Lighter: aluminum spaceframe technology like Aston-Martin, Audi, and Jaguar. Could be used (like Aston) for front, center, or rear engined cars. Weighing 250 kg less would sure make it more nimble.

Faster: 380 hp would be nice in a car that is 250kg lighter.

DSG: a better alternative to Tip that might make stick shifters happy also.

993 shaped: bring back the classic fender "hips"

Better interior: see Audi and Cayenne. Can't PAG use more up-to-date Audi interior parts?

Less road noise: I like engine noise, but not tires thumping and banging around, or road roar on poor surfaces. (A trade against the aluminum space frame weight reduction perhaps)

Better stereo: Start by making switchable PSE standard, but Purleeeze can we have something better than Doze stereo...

Fewer options: meaning more of what you get in a Civic and Corolla as standard...

A lightweight version: not only do you lose stuff like electric windows (saves money) but what you lose in value you gain in weight reduction with more aluminum and carbon fiber. So same cost, but REALLY lighter

Anything else to add to the dreamlist?

You forgot three-abreast seating. That is a non-turbo McLaren F1. Can't think of anything else streetable with that power/weight ratio under 3000lbs. since the Cobras. Well, if they build it I want it too.

300-320hp and 2700lbs would be nice. With lower gearing, winding windows, no sunroof, manual seats (2), no sound insulation, some paint on the inside...

Yup, thats exactly what I was thinking LeChef :

- Aluminum chasis like the F360's (or Audi A2 ) which is not only lighter but much stiffer too.

- Duble-clutch sequential: world apart from torque-converter automatics (Tip) and even better than SMG-II or the Magneti-Marelli sequential of the Ferarri's, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo or Maserati.

- More muscular & agressive looks definately, but not like the 993, lets move on from the 993 looks.

- Should handle and sound like a Porsche with the standard options i.e. RowM030, 18" wheels, and PSE standard! (and the current standard suspension/ 17" wheels/exhaust as a no-cost option).

- Oh, and throw in a few ponies more

Oh well, lets keep dreamin' cause the way the company is heading, we will be lucky if we don't get an SL500 with the V8 from the Cayenne in the rear for the next 911

all for more agressive looks (although drive 996 much preff the more original looks of the 911/930) and updated interior (its about time)- personally stereo controls just behined the steering wheel would be big bonus and less chance of me stuffing the car into the back of a bus whilst looking to locate the up down on the cd changer. also the options list is just too long - dont get me wrong its not about choice which all for - but make things like coloured wheel centers and such like standard -
