Default deciding between FABSPEED & Densk

Okay I am going to purchase a set on Monday and I don't know if I should get Fabspeed or Densk:

Fabspeed $850
Densk $950 both shipped price.

I have 02 996 and I want it to sound loud enough to grab attention anywhere I go however at the same time I don't want it to be too loud where it starts getting annoy since it is my daily driver.

The Guy recommended me to get Densk Sport version instead of super sound what do you guys think, should I go with fabspeed and save $100 or go with densk "sport" or maybe "super sound" ?

Any recommendation would be appreciated!!!

Why not ghl. I have the regulars, and they have the right amount of attention without being crazy. Especially under a little acceleration. You could go ghl loud for a bit more. Do a search on exhaust and you will read alot of info and there are also a lot of links to sound clips.

I have listened to the Fabspeeds, GHL and the Dansks...have to dansks installed right now.

the ghl's are nice, so are the dansks and the fabspeeds....tough one??

the GHL sound less deep as the fabspeeds, the dansks are between the ghl and fabspeed in deepness.
Hope this helps

depending on were you are located....you can come and listen to my dansks......

I've got the Dansk's right now. Just installed them last Wednesday. Had a nice long weekend with them and they definately got a little louder once broken in. Mine are a modified Sport that puts it in the middle between Sport and Super (according to Departstop where I got them). At first I thought they weren't loud enough at all, but once broken in they definately sound good. I had a buddy drive it around so I could hear it and from a block away you just heard this deep purring sound that at first you didn't even realize you heard. Then as he drove by it was loud enough to make it noticed, but not obnoxious. As I drove through town (small coastal town with tons of tourists over the weekend) I had heads turn from people who were interested in the sound or new something nice was coming, but not from people getting their ears blown out. Overall, very happy with it. I've also got a Cab so that made a difference on which set I got too. Don't find it to be too loud with the top down, just right.

i think we (the 996 forum) needs to get together and make some sound clips.... all this exhaust talk, its too hard to explain the note it makes

^ jon, i agree man.

911mz, i havn't tried out Dansk so no comment on them. All things considered, if you like both their sound, you can choose based on lightness..lighter is better

I've been trying to figure out how I can make a sound clip. So far nothing. I don't even know what to make it with. Some digital recording I presume. Anyone have any ideas that are simple and don't take a lot of time?

Did you make the buy?

BTW: Where did you find Fabspeeds for $850?

I have the fabspeeds w/ cold air kit.. I doubt the cak does anything for power but the combo sounds like a million bucks. Got the Maxflos from Dan at Vivid. He'll treat you right and supports the forum

do you have a digital camera that can record video? that would do the trick most of the time (as they are usually converted to mpeg4). The quality may not be the best, but its good enough to get a sense of what it may sound like. Once you have the file, post back here and there are a bunch of sites you can upload the video...

Okay, I made a sound clip with my digital camera. Didn't come out half bad. The file extension is AVI, which isn't valid for me to post here. Now I just need to know how to convert it to something else. Any suggestions??

I suggest fabspeed.

PS. I know you said its your daily driver, but as you said you wanted to 'grab attention' - get straight pipes - you get the WHOLE spectrum of 'looks' from people - everytime, all the time

If you PM me I'll email you my AVI file. It is 1 meg. Took recording about 5-6' behind car in driveway. Wife starts car and gets up to 3800 rpm. Not the best but definately gives a good idea.

I've had stock, bypass pipes, GHL regular and loud, and fabspeed.
The best sound and quality by a wide margin were the fabs, the ghl regs are barely louder than stock, the louds are loud as **** and resonate a bit. bypass pipes are rediculous on a daily driver.
