Slight tapping noise (body)
Has anyone figured out what the slight rattle, "tapping" is while driving, or idling on the right rear corner of the 996. The best way to describe it is... if you suspended a wire coat hanger on a string across the back seats and it would gently tap the inside metal around the rear window. this is driving me nuts! Thanks... Rick

Hmm, when I heard this rattle it turned out that one of the rear seat seatbacks wasn't all the way latched on (fixed by unlatching and relatching). Here's hoping it's something so simple.

I have a two rattles and one sounds like yours. It was the passenger seat and it is just gets in/out of frequency of the engine and rattles. My other rattle is in the front right of my windshield. Dealer says the windshield needs to be taken out and put back in for $700.

There is a tsb for a windshield rattle it involves sliding a foam like rope between the window trim and the body very easy diy the part is like $18 at the dealer and it works wonders. Can also be used on rear window.
