Arrow Question on X74 chassis reinforcement.........

A while back I remember hearing from several people that Porsche would not offer an aftermarket X74 suspension kit because of chassis reinforcement that had to be done at the factory. I now see that Gert @ Carnewal is now offering the X74 kit. I am very interested in purchasing this kit, but am hesitant to do so because of the "chassis reinforcement" that I thought had to be done on the car prior. Can anyone shed some light on this topic. Thanks!

My understanding is that for 02 onward cars the x74 is ok due to the 25% stiffer chassis in newer cars.

Is it now available? Last I heard, it may be on the list, but Gert was still waiting for it.

Palting,

You may be right, I simply saw it listed and assumed it was available.

The X74 factory retrofit kit (for '02- 996C2 and 996C4) is available and comes with two reinforcement parts.

The X73 retrofit for the Turbo and C4S is not available yet.

I have the kit w/o the reinforcing parts but I have a full cage with probably stiffens it more than the kit. If you get the kit from Gert, put in the parts and you should be good to go! It does handle quite amazingly.
