Post Ahg! Hit a dam dog with my 996! Advice...

I was driving home from San Fransico and hit a dog on the freeway The front clip is gone (I sure HOPE it's gone, they shouldn't *fix* it!) along with some underbody damage.

<img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> Damd Dog!

Anyone know of a good body shop in Northern California?

#2, I have the aero kit, is that a special front clip?

#3, I really like the turbo front clip, if they replace it, rather than just having my $500 deductable come out my **** for nothing, where can I and how much is a Turbo front clip?

#4, anyone have any other front clip ideas?

Well, obviously that dog was pretty stupid.

The owner was just plain neglectful.

Poor Porsche, I feel for you. Why not put a new GT3 front clip?

I would agree with the comment earlier. I would puke if I hit a dog. That's just a terrible thing. Most people consider their dog a child, but whatever. Concerning the front end you should get the gt2 front end gt3/aero is just too minute differentially from the reg. YOu know you want to. Yeah it's like 1700 or thereabouts but if you have a deductable of x then whatever right?

I've heard Bodystyles in San Jose is pretty good but very expensive and turn around time is rediculous. But I guess if you want a good job the turn around time shouldn't matter much.

The car can be fixed in what ever ways that pleases you, wish we can say the same of the dog. ofcourse it was not your fault, but the dog owners'.

The new GT-3 front bumper cover is the best-looking 996 front so far in my opinion. Try Classic Autobody in Berkeley, I just repainted mine there very recently.

It is truly a shame about the dog and its owner. But it is better to hit the dog than swerve into another car, sometimes it is the only thing to do.

I feel for the poor dog. Not some plastic or metal. Easily replaced with money, Not the dog. Grow up

I have a dog, and I love it. I would never allow my dog on the street without a leash, much less a freeway. But the dog is gone. Let's concentrate on the living.
If you want a big change, go GT2 or Turbo. If you want a small subtle change go GT3.

I understand his anger. It's frustrating when expensive mistakes happen to us. The dog is NOT a person.

I'm amazed at all the people getting upset about this dog they didn't even know. So he didn't show any sympathy, so what? This is a Porsche board not a dog lovers board. I love dogs. I have had dogs, I currently have a bird that I love as much as I did my dogs. I also hunt ducks and geese becaues they are delicious. Animals are not people even though when they are your pet, you can love them as such.

Come on people. Give him a break.

I'm guessing this dog was already dead, before it was hit by the Porsche.

The GT2 front looks great on lowered cars, else it looks stupid.
