Unhappy

Of course is sad for the dog
but how can be this possible!, the owner is guilty and responsable of his dog's accident.

I reluctantly add my comments here...

1. I think the title of this thread could be read many ways. So never assume you know the meaning or tone of someone's comments.

2. Personally I've felt HORRIBLE when I run over an animal, and I have screemed out loud and sweared at the animal in response to running out in front of me and making ME feel bad for it. Nothing to do with not having pity on the poor animal, in fact quite the opposite.

3. Scott from Houston is right. It's a Porsche board so whether you agree with what you PERCEIVE his feelings are towards this dog ignore them and focus on what his question was. That's the reason for this board's existence anyway.

Ummmm... hopefully his child, wife, or family member would have a little more sense than wander in the middle of the freeway <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

You guys need to give the guy a break.

Last year, some ****ing deer ran right into one of my loaner cars. I did everything I could to try to avoid him, but he decides to broad side me, since deer are one of the most stupid animals ever.

We definitely need open hunting season in our hills. I wonder how the venison would have tasted.

Dogs are above deer in the animal hierarchy, but my point is that you can't do anything about a stupid animal, just like you can't do anything about stupid people.

Personally, it would make me mad if one's stupidity cost me money and higher insurance premiums. You guys need to put things in perspective.

I have had dogs and love dogs, but come on, this had to have been one stupid or insane dog and one really retarded owner. It's one thing to let your dogs wander if you live in suburbia, but in the middle of San Francisco? Whatever happened to owner responsibility?

Whoa!..... getting quite offensive now panerawatchamthingy.

Dogs, like children and wifes should be kept under supervision. Dogs should be on a lead. If the dog was on a lead then it almost certainly would not have happened. Wives generally don't go hanging about in the middle of the highway and parents should be responsible enough to keep the kids off the highway too.

I don't think Mitch was like err aiming for the dog. So lay off with the compassion thing.

In the UK, if you hit a dog you have to report it to the police by law. The nice thing is that if you find the owner, you can claim compensation for the damage.

If I was going along the road and a dog ran out I would NOT swerve to miss it. If I did I may swerve into a bus-stop full of kids! heaven forbid. I would then be well peaved at the damage to my car and would be well pissed with the owner of the dog. Of course I would feel pitty for the poor mislead canine but ****, how many flies bounce off your windscreen!!!

He obviously was not aiming for the dog or out dog hunting in his 996 so lay off of him!
This IS a 996 board so if you have an answer to his 996 question respond, if not don't...

Yes, back to the question. What's a good Body Shop in Northern California? I'm planning on getting side Skirts for my 911 and wanted to know a good place to get them painted and installed.

Try Modern Bench Operations in Campbell, CA. I've taken my car there and they do a great job. ask for Tamara or Pete (owner).

A single kind word about the dog--before getting to the car--would have deflected all criticizers.

Not a word about the dog. Sad.

Hey, all you dog lovers had better get to your local pound asap! I hear they kill HUNDREDS of them every week! Quick! Go save them!

Look, I like dogs as much as the next guy, I had a few of them and they become part of your family. However, I have nothing kind to say about a 60lb dog in the freeway that does $4700+ damage to my new car. The dog was

A: stupid
B: Crazy
C: Sick

and most likely a stray that would have been killed by the local animal control anyways.
