Does any one have any good stats on X-51? 0-60,1/4 mi.,0-100, top speed, add'l weight? Also, Viken posted on 8-26 the porsche factory dyno chart for X-51 and there is a noticeable decrease in torque from the stock '03 996 from 3100 to just under 4500 rpm.Whats up? For 13k I'm buying less low end torque? ED Newman e-mailed me back on a question and said that he can feel the low end loss of torque.Does this mean crappier 0-60/0-100? Can this be corrected or can torque be enhanced with a Unichip/exhaust/intake upgrade(dyno'd in of course)? Please help.I'd hate to waste 13k on a new '03 coupe.

While I don't know for sure...I bet the package has new headers right? If so, when you adjust the size of the headers to by you more top end you loose some low end torque. I have seen that on every header dyno chart where you loose some at the lower RPM band..but more than makes up for it in the higher RPMs. Which is where your P-car is at its happiest !!

Correction... you CANNOT feel the loss of low end tourqe... just a big gain in top end power. Ed from Westchester also seems to agree. I bought a Gtech comp so maybe this weekend I'll get some o-60 and 0-100 times.

Once again Ed, well put. I'll be kissing your *** for a while on these posts because you've helped me with a most important decision! Thanks for the reply on this post and I'd like to see your results. Thanks -Blustem P.S: I may have read your e-mail incorrectly, or was it a post? -I can't remember. Anyhow, sorry.

I played around with a couple 0-60 somthing jaunts tonight and found one key thing... the difference between 4's and 5's is probably all about how hard you can do the 1-2 shift. Keep in mind that the shift can represent 25-30% of the time. If you launch hard and slam the shift its going to be quite fast. I may drive the car very hard, but i am weary of abusing it. Need to find a good place to do some testing with this new G Tech Comp, but its a bit of a project to use so I don't want to do it on a busy street.

I'm not sure any of us like beating up the drive train with all-out launches or hard shifts. Wouldn't acceleration times for 3000-6000 rpm in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear be an equal indicator of gain? While that doesn't give comparisons to published figures, it would certainly support an understanding of how much quicker a mod makes a car. AS

I have to play with the computer and see if it can measure that. It does read engine RPM from the DC fluctuation on the power feed. That definitely is a better comparison.
