Cayenne sacrilege
Re: Cayenne
What really annoys me is that since I have been a Porsche owner in the early 80's, and an observing enthusiast of Porsche from the early 70's, I have patiently anticipated each seemingly slight improvement in HORSEPOWER and TORQUE as the years passed. Articles and conversations always talking about how every bit of power is being squeezed out of the flat six, 5 h.p. there, 20 h.p. there. Years pass. Finally, the 911 has knaws its way up to the monumental 320 pony mark. (phew!) Fantastic I think.
Now comes the 2003 McCormick spezial from Porsche. Out of the chute, it trumps the 911 soundly by having more h.p. and torque than the current beloved 911. To add insult to injury, the turbo Cayenne has astonishingly even more thrust than the mighty King Kong 996 Turbo! Is nothing sacred??????
Tell me please, what's wrong with this picture???

Dude--other Porsches have had more peak HP than the 911 since... since... oh, my, it's been a long time! Life is good.
