Question for Cab Owners

Not much at all. In fact I told a buddy of mine it was super quiet, and the first time he rode with me he said, "I know you said it was quiet, but I didn't believe you." It is pretty quiet. I prefer it to the hard top cuz the hardtop creaks and squeeks like mad.

It is surprisingly comfortable and quiet with the top up - I am on the phone all the time for work. I have never received a comment or complaint from a client while driving the P-Car if the top is up. Now that the weather is warm, I just have to avoid those calls during my commute so that I can put the top down more often!

I've never ridden in a 996 coupe, but my car is quieter, top up, than a 993 coupe.

Depends.
If your flooring it from the lights then its noisy......but we all love that noise
If your talking about cruising along at a nice pace, say 100Mph then its as quiet as a sleeping baby. But then again I have my music blasting away
I have Fabspeed kit fitted and I also have 19" wheels. They both make a difference to the noise level. But still, its very comfortably quiet with the top up.

As quiet as the cabriolet is, it's amazing how much quieter it gets with the hardtop on. It's not that the rag top is loud (indeed, as everyone intimated above, it's really very quiet), it's just that the car goes deathly silent when the hardtop is in place. And of course, bear in mind that I have an aftermarket exhaust and LOVE that sound. I'll have to figure out a way to port it through the hardtop.
