Default Car as promotion tool?

Has anyone used a car as a promo tool? We are opening a franchise, a few stores all at once in Warsaw Poland and are thinking of buying a gallardo as a promo tool. Drive it around lots and offer a free drive once a week or something. I guess it will be the only gallardo in town and will get talked about. and could help our launch.

Anyone done this and think it is a good idea? Especially as MI3 has just come out and there is a lot of lambo talk.

I'd definitely take a ride in a Lambo for a $2 cup of coffee. ****, I'd pay $5.

This is probably one for OT...but I would think it would get you a little attention if you put the name of your franchise on the side of the car (but who is going to do that to a Lambo).

I own a few restaurants and have 3 catering vans which have the name of my business and a phone numbers on the sides and back. They are Chevy Astro vans, not Lambo's, so no one would want to take a ride in it. A ride in a Lambo would probably work better!

They do help to get the name out a little with the signage.

well the way I look at it. We can sell the car on later and I want one of these cars anyway. I always get the best deal from the net when I buy cars. So I buy the best value for the year and then sell for the lowest price too. Should only cost a few grand for insurance etc. Hopefully money well spent.

Buying a gallardo and posting your company's name across it will definitely get attention, no doubt about that (especially since it IS the only "exotic" in your town). But the real question is WHY?

For a coffee business that has nothing to do with automotive-anything, it may be excessive. I don't see a huge connection b/w exotic cars and coffee lovers. Sure, I love exotic cars and I love coffee as well, but there are few and far many people in between that could care less about Gallardos or exotics for that matter (let alone test drives). Who is your target audience and what is your coffee shop like? Is it for an everyday cafe for all coffee lovers or is it specifically trying to reach out to a more select audience? The real question is will your potential customers appreciate it?

From an advertising perspective, there are many more efficient methods of creating a buzz while reaching your audience. If you have a limited advertising budget, buying a gallardo should not be first on the list. Having a promotional car (albeit exotic) should be icing on the cake after you cover off on the other mediums to effectively promote your business.

I don’t know about your business, what your objectives are, who you are trying to reach and what your budget is so take my post with a grain of salt. Your reach by just dropping stickers over the car is minimal and your cost is +++++, the effectiveness of it cannot be measured nor can you target your audience. If this is your only means to promote, then I’d advise against it. But if you have other items lined up to launch (and have the budget to buy a gallardo without blinking) then go for it!!!

Funny for me I am in internet advertising and know all about finding customers all over the world and am very good at it. With this it is my first offline business and as I was buying one of these cars anyway I thought I would loan it to the company for 2 months to get it started wi as we have a large rollout plan overthe next 12 months and I would like to create a buzz to give it a kickstart. Heh, this post should be in a marketing forum, not a porsche forum. Sorry guys

^ a car can be a pretty good promotional tool. Hell, thats the reason why we see everthing from viagra to home depot on race cars. It grabs attention and will help people remember the name plastered on the side of the car.

For me, having decals has been great, but that may be more directly becase i'm in the auto business and my car is like a calling card.

Also, bare in mine you will probably put quite a few miles on the G-car...maybe find an accident repair car, something that you can scoop for cheap?
