My 2003 C4S arrived at the dealer in Tulsa I ordered it through this week, and I am expecting it to arrive where I live sometime tomorrow afternoon. As soon as it comes, assuming the weather will be nice, I will take pictures and post them here for everyone to see. It is seal gray with a graphite gray interior and the options include: heated seats, supple leather, aluminum stick shift/parking break, upgraded Bose sound, litronic headlights, color wheelcaps, and the sport exhaust.
After I drive this cars a few days, I will post a follow-up with my initial impressions and opinions after driving this car in comparison to my previous Porsche ('95 993 Cab). The dealer in Tulsa (Jackie Cooper Imports) worked out a fantastic deal that beat Park Place in Dallas, Texas by $10,000 including the trade-in and the discount off of MSRP.
I am really hype about this, and it will be interesting to see if I can sleep tonight. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? I know I am supposed to not exceed 4,500 rpms for the first 2,000 miles, but is there anything else I should watch out for? Do any previous 993 owners have any comments to offer? I already ordered a set of bumper plugs online, but is there anything else that is a must have accessory and/or upgrade?

Austin, I also have an '03 C4S in the same color combo, though my equipment is a bit different.
Small Alu Pkg
Alu rear console
Alu dials'Alu Turbo shifter
Bose Stereo Upgrade
Soft Leather
Alu dials
Rain Sensor/Light Dimmer
The modifications I have done (so far) that I believe have the greatest value are:
Body-color painted rear bumperettes from Eric @ bumper plugs
Stainless steel GHL Exhaust
Fabspeed Air Box
In-dash spoiler control switch (moved from ridiculous fuse panel cover) from Boxsey's.
Enjoy your ride!

Congratulations!
I am excited for you. The new 996 C4S is a pure thrill ride. The first 2k will go by extremely fast if you drive as much as I did when I first jumped in mine about this time last year. I picked it up on a Friday and by Monday I had about 1500 miles on it. I still have trouble staying out of the car. Make sure you don't allow any rice burners get hurt by trying to follow you into the corners. Trust me they will try but after your speedo hits triple digits in a twisty exit ramp they always seem to relax a little bit after that
.
Have fun and enjoy, you have just purchased one of the finest vehicles available in the market.

Hello Austin and welcome!
normaly you receive your car yesterday! so? how you feel!!?
Pics are welcome!
a "must do" modif is the suspension, f.ex the Euro row M030. You will improve the handling and the look(get lowered) of your beauty.

The C4S came in late last night, at least a few hours later than expected. They originally said the car would be delivered between 3 and 4 pm, but the car didn't show up until nearly 7. Talk about waiting on pins and needles!
Needless to say, the car is both a beauty to behold and drive. Compared to my previous '95 993, there is no comparison in every category. All-around, it is simply a better car. In my original post, I forgot to mention that it also came with symbol crests in the seats, which is a nice addition. When I first took it out this morning, being carefully to keep it under 4,200 rpms, I will still struck by how much more powerful this car feels (Even though it has more horsepower, I think torque might have something to do with it). The handling is quite simply superb, and I do think that this is an easier car to drive than the 993. However, that is not to say that it is not as performance oriented. I think it is, if not more so. It still feels kind of surreal right now. When I returned home this afternoon, the sun really wasn't just right to take some perfect pictures, but I decided to take some anyway so everyone could see what it looks like.
Here is a link to the pictures:

There is one slight annoyance though: Just at about 70 mph there is wind noise coming from the passenger window. Does anyone have any suggestions? Since, I bought this car out of state, I will be taking it to the Porsche dealer in the morning for an out of state and state inspection, so I will also have them fix this.
Besides that one minor problem, everything else is perfect. As I put some more driving time in, I will continue to post with updates. If anyone has any specific questions, I will be more than happy to answer them.

Doug,
I've updated the pictures at the same link with all-new pictures taken in more opportune sunlight:
<a href="http://www.web2.macconnect.com/mystique/photographs/c4s" target="_blank">http://www.web2.macconnect.com/mystique/photographs/c4s</a>
I've put nearly 250 miles on the car now, and I really am having a blast driving it. I am dissapointed that the wind noise is still persisting, even after I took it to a dealer bright and early this morning. Oh well, hopefully it will be resolved on Friday (see other post, "Wind Noise???").
One thing I have noticed, is how much of a difference there is with the suspension. I don't have any complaints though, and the ride is really great, although I did discover it's impossible to drive with a drink in the cupholder (at least from Starbucks anyway). I bought the special Porsche stainless steel mug, so hopefully that will work better.
If anyone has any other suggestions or questions, let me know.

It is definitely quite a bit firmer and it is requiring that I adjust my expectations for the ride. Even the highway here (I-30) is sad in some parts, and while there are some nice roads, others are plain awful in parts.
I really notice the difference on bad surfaces, but when the road is smooth, the ride is unbelievable.

AustinL,
I've heard that "someone" recommends the low rpm "burn-in" time on your C4S and other new Porsches, but I've also heard that Porsche technicians are apalled at that recommendation. They concur that the engines are "burned-in" at the factory and the low rev recommendation is simply in place to encourage new Porsche owners to get familiar with their cars before driving them hard.
My C4S will be ready for European Delivery in June, so I will see first hand if this is bogus or not. I've never heard a salesman tell someone to keep the rpms down and when I attend the Porsche driving school, I'll see if they "burn-in" their cars as well.
Chow, Kent

With respect to wind noise coming from the window-have dealer check the seals around the window area and the frame-maybe it's not sealed in one area. I would wait on the suspension stuff since the C4S is pretty good as it is. Maybe later on do the suspension mod after more track days and all. I would recommend steel pedal sets like RUF or the like-would look great in your car. A short shifter would be a good one too. Regards. Mike
