This weekend I started up my 996 and the green cruise control icon lit up (this was after the light test when you turn on the ignition). This light has stayed on for 3 days even though cruise control is not enabled. The cruise control does work normally, but the light does not reflect the status of the system. No amount of stalk tugging and pushing seems to have any affect.

Any clues to this problem?
