He appears no longer to sell the silver center caps, just when I felt justified in buying them

IIRC, there has been a crackdown by PCNA/lawyers on the silver crests (not authorized/licensed by PAG, yadayada). The silver hood crests have disappeared as well.

The dealers sells the "Silver" hood crest but charges double. I saw one at McKenna Porsche for $199.99.

Maybe they are getting rid of their inventory. Glad I got hood crests and Boothe caps. Hold on to them, they will be collectors items!.
