My first P-car - with pics
Hi all,
After lurking in this forum for several weeks, I have just taken possession of my 'new to me' 2001 C4 Coupe Tiptronic. (HiFi, supple leather, dark blue interior, PSM)
In the past, I have driven a TVR Chimaera (in the UK) and 2 Saab 9-3 Viggens (in the US).
The TVR was outrageous and the Carrera 4 is the first car to beat it in every respect.
I'm a very happy camper.
I guess I'll be doing the speaker upgrade mod soon, along with a clear bra.
Question: there are a few scuffs on the leather interior (passenger side). What is the best way to get rid of those?
I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.
Patrick

Welcome and congrats. Very nice! Thanks for sharing the pics! There is one item you might want to check on however. I do not think your seats are the "supple leather" seats. The supple leather seats on my '04 996 do not have the multiple small ridges at the rear of the seat bottom.

Welcome aboard!
Have to concur with Tim on this one....those seats are not supple leather. Those are standard. I have to ask though, what is up with those tail pipes???

Thank you all
Thanks for al the mesages.
I take your point about the supple leather (to be honest, I wouldn't know the difference yet, unless I had both cars side by side).
The tail pipes: I wanted to ask a question about them. They make a nice noise, without being too loud. I have no idea what they are or whther they have an impact on performance.
Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on interior leather maintenance and scuff removal?

very pretty car
Your seats are equiped with "soft look leather" that means , it's leatherette.
To clean them properly buy a Clean leather product and after that , apply leather cream (AutoGlym works fine)
I love twin tail pipes from www.fvd.de

Thanks again
I'll look some more into leather cleaning products as well as autoglym.
So my interior is not leather?
Not that it matters. It looks very convincing, so I can't really tell the difference.
As I'm working my way through the manual, I have a question that I have not yet read the answer to:
When I first start the car, the 'spoiler' light comes on until I drive off, and then it's off. Is this normal or is there something I need to look into?

Great looking car. Congrats.
Some years ago I had a TVR 2500M - very interesting and unique car. Had a ton of fun with it. I'm not familiar with the model you had.
Re. the leather scuff marks. This may sound a little nutty, but if the scuff marks are small and have scrubbed off some of the coloring and white is showing through, in the past I have used a touch of matching shoe polish to "color in" those spots - make sure the color matches, don't leave it on long and buff it out right away...use small amounts and repeat if necessary.

Thanks for your feedback, PGH and aben.
Yes, the Viggens and the TVR were big fun.
I sometimes miss the big turbo rush I got from the Viggen in 2nd and 3rd, but I'm getting over that pretty quick!
