Cool Auto transport

Hi all, new member here. Planning a move from the NYC metro area to No. California. Not practical to drive my 996 coast to coast, so wondering if anyone out there has some ideas on reliable car movers and some idea of cost involved?

InterCity always advertises in Pano. Can't begin to balk at cost. Why don't you make a vacation/road trip out of it? An option is to go with Atlas Van Lines, or Mayflower. Cheapest transport is on the back of a flatbed. You'd better put a cover on it.

I recently had my car shipped from North Carolina to Los Angeles via Dependable Auto Shippers. I like the fact that they have their own fleet of trucks, and the best part is that you can check on the city location of the car in real-time; their trucks have GPS. It cost $1450 for a covered truck, loaded on the top level (so your baby doesn't get dripped on), with pick up at the local port. Movecars.com is a site that lists a lot of auto shippers, and has a lot of things to ask a shipper and to watch out for. Stay away from brokers.

Dependable Auto Shippers doesn't use true enclosed carriers (such as Intercity or Horsless Carriage use). Their carriers are open at the bottom and have canvas sides, so your car is not fully protected from wind/rain/dirt. I've used Horseless Carriage twice and was very happy with them.
