Question Charge-0-mat

How long is the LED supposed to stay lit after it is plugged into the cigarette lighter? I have had the charger hot for 48 hours and the dang LED is still on! Is my battery THAT low in charge?

The LED will stay on for as long as the charger is working. It probably did go off within the 48 hours but you weren't there to notice it. I wouldn't worry about it.

I had the same concern way back when I bought mine. So I charged my battery 100% with a Sears best microprocessor controlled charger that has a battery charge meter , then plugged my Charge - O - Mat in immediately and the LED was still on !I think that's normal, although don't the instructions state that the LED goes off when fully charged ?

These cars draw power constantly (alarm, clocks etc), I think this keeps the charger on a little longer and more often than if you had the battery out on a bench. Just my hypothesis.

I ahve one for each of my 993s, and YES, the LED eventually goes off. It would usually be days before I caught it with the LED off.

As to the reason, I think Ofer is one the right track.

BTW, it did keep the batteries juiced. Both cars started right up.
