Default PPI In Pompano Area

Hello,

I am looking at a Porsche in the Pompano area. It is a black on black 911 Aerokit with circa 60k miles on it...

I told the seller that i want to have a PPI done at a dealer, and he gave me a bunch of grief that the dealer always makes the cars they inspect seem worse then they are, because they want your money...

After adamently insisting a PPI, and that if it passes, that i will buy the car, he agree'd...

A couple questions: 1) are dealers known to degrade a PPI vehicle so you buy one of theirs? 2) can anyone recommend a shop to do PPI in the Pompano area??

I know that Champion is a big dealer, and i called them abot getting a PPI done, but they told me that they won't inspect the body, frame or etc...

I am not worried about the mechanics as much as i am if it has ever been in any accidents...

You guys should be great help! Let me know!

I would recommend Champion. I have been a customer there for 13 years and have only good experiences. I believe they would be able to spot if the car has been in an accident right away. Did you do a carfax search? Tom.

If you HAVE TO go to Champion, speak to Danny in service. He at least will try to be fair as possible.

Your BETTER alternatives will be Gulf Performnce, Foregin Affairs, and Butch Stokes.

Good luck.

Will any of these shops check out the body for me as well??

I know that Champion is a KNOWN dealer, but i don't know if they are trustworthy...Is it true that they might "dog" a car so you are more prone to buying one from them?

Champion referred me to Stuttgart Autobody to get the body checked out...

The owner is giving me enough hastle about taking it to a PPI so i would like to be able to take it to one place for the whole deal...

thanks!

Keith, I am familiar with Stuttgart Autobody. They repaired my car after an accident. The car looked better than before the accident. Unbelievable job. If I was in the market for a used 911 I would take it there. Tom.

Go to Foreign Affairs & speak to Bob Varella (Owner) you'll be glad you did...
They're 1 1/2 blocks north of sample on powerline. Website is www.2fam.com.

Thanks Guys!

I have a PPI scheduled for Wed afternoon at Gulf Performance...I talked to Vincent there and I was sold after the recommendation and his meticulous attitude...

I will hopefully be posting on here that I am a 1st time Pcar owner soon!

I don't think either shop has the tool that detects paint thickness. So you would be relying on visual inspection. Champion has that tool in the used car section. I would think that if you took the car there and gave the salesman a "tip" he would check the body for you.
