Floating rotors
I have floating rotors on my M5. They are essential on that car as the heat buildup can be tremendous and the brakes system is relatively weak! Will the C2 need them for track events? I know already that the brakes are a much stronger system on the Porsche. If so, are they aftermarket, or is there a factory type source?

Considering there are several companies that make a good living putting Porsche brakes on BMW's I don't think you will need anything more. There are of course brake upgrades. Should you need them for 996's you can upgrade to the GT3 brakes or even larger Brembo brakes.
You didn't say what model of Porsche but I assumed 996 since that the board you posted on.

Well at 4k lbs, your M5 desperately needs em. However, your appx 3100 lb 996 should be pretty fine with the stock brakes. However, you might want to change to Blue fluid and consider steel lines if you're gonna track it alot. I went with the GT3 rotors and calipers myself, but most of those I know have little to no fade problems on the track with their stock brakes.

Ditto on the strut brace. The 996 is already has a more bracing in the chassis -- not needed. Spend your money on a ROW030 suspension. Lower springs, larger shocks and sway bars. My 2 cents!

Ordered the 030 Suspension, in addition to the 18" wheels, Stab Managment, and Turbo rear spoiler. What else is needed? I will DE the car, but I will not put in a rool bar.

Did you ever get your brake problems sorted? If not try going back to the stock brake lines. I asked my mechanic about changing mine on my race car and he said no way. They did this on a 993 GT2 and changed right back to the stock lines. The inside diameter was slightly different and it caused problems. FWIW.

Greg, thanks for asking as well as the suggestion. Everything is pretty hunky dory now. Now I just need a little more tire grip (BF Goodrich KDs are sitting in the garage to replace current Contis). The ABS comes on sooner under full braking now that the tire grip is exceeded quicker (better brakes - i'm assuming).
With regards to the steel brake lines I noticed on my friend's M3 with the steel brake lines it was way too sensitive when braking. I know how the stock m3 felt like but with the steel lines it was very touchy and bone jarring in a way. I've been thing about the blue brake fluid-do you notice a difference with it? Regards. Mike
ATE super blue brake fluid does have a higher boiling point than factory fluid. Will we ever approach the boiling point of factory fluid? Most likely not. Ive done lap after lap at DE events with the ABS kicking in almost at every corner without fade. The blue stuff actually discolors the the reservoir and can make flushing the fluid difficult to tell when it is the new fluid coming out of the bleeder. My two cents. I wouldnt use it.
