Post Board Ideas--Thoughts

John D. We seem to have a ton of questions about products for the Porsche and how to install them.

How about a reference section where we can post products and reviews as well as install instructions and TSBs for our cars.

Not trying to create to much work for you....
Just a thought to facilitate research on some of the more common products.

Any thoughts

Hi Grungy..!

I really like that idea... And, I think - there are a few ways to do it - depending on which approach the folks here like...

First - I can set up a New Forum where the TSBs and info can be stored as an achive rather then an interactive forum..?

Second - I could take the posts - and include them on my tech site <a href="http://tech.rennlist.com" target="_blank">http://tech.rennlist.com</a> - and the articles can be posts or stored as PDF files. Either is fine, as I can do the conversion back here - so it is what you folks would like....

Third - I can also include it in the 996 FAQ at <a href="https://rennlist.com/996_faq/index.htm" target="_blank">https://rennlist.com/996_faq/index.htm</a> - again, whatever you folks would like.....

I really like this idea, Grungy - a good one! So let see how the other would like to archive these posts, OK???

As you all know I'm a bottom-feeder when it comes to computers, but my interest in Porsches has become an more important part of my life since, well you know. Please just make it simple to access, simple to contribute to etc.etc. Just my .02 <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

A technical index that contains input from the many posts on various subjects would be very helpful, although the search function, that I have recently been encouraged to use, has been quite valuable. Most topics have a broad range of views and it is helpful to get such relatively objective perspective.

This would be a great idea! PDF and/or a reference area for DIYers!

I didn't suggest this to reduce the number of opinions on any given subject. I agree that the back and forth of this board is extremely valuable.
For example, I have directions on how to install aluminum gauge faces and the short shift kit from TechArt. I also have pictures of my parking brake install. I have faxed or emailed these to many people and thought I could post them for easier access.

The central idea being that I can refer to them when I post.

JohnD..... Any section you set up as a central repository would be fine with me. Don't know if there would be any bandwidth or legal issues to deal with. Maybe tons of disclaimers...
