Question how to install wheel spacers?

Anybody images of a wheel spacer install?

I ordered spacer for front 7MM and rear 15MM for 996 C2.....can't figure out how to install them, because I can't use my original bolts...but they come with bolts you have to install with lugnuts......

Maybe there is a DIY guide somewhere???

The 7's just attach to the hub with 2 screws and your wheels mount as normal (of course with new longer bolts). Some brands do NOT stay affixed to the hub in this manner adn just go between you wheel and the hub and stay in place beteween the 2.....not the preferred method. (if you look closely at the Porsche spacers, there are 2 small screw holes that hold it in place to the hub....the "other brand doesn't).

The 15's actually bolt onto the hub with the pre-existing bolt holes and then your wheel bolts onto the spacer with NEW bolt and nuts.

See the pics attached (FYI...the pic in the middle with both large and small spacers and bolts is the PORSCHE setup and the other 2 pics are aftermarket):

^what dell said. Use the existing studs to hold the spacer to the hub, and use supplied nuts to secure the wheels in place. I prefer the old school set up. Screwing studs into the hub each time you want to swap tires/wheels is a royal pain...

Nicolaas, I have a set of H&R 14mm spacers which I purschased with the 14mm longer bolts. These just are held on by the two small screws and the longer bolts go thru to attach your wheel and you still have the correct amount of thread bite. They were on the front end of my car when you saw it with the 18" black rims. I have since upgraded to 19" rims with a perfect offset, so, no longer needed. You can return yours and buy mine, or just buy my bolts. Either way, if you decide, I will charge you one six pack of my favorite beer "Newcastle".

Nicholaas...............don't your 15's look like dell's pic?
If so his descrip is correct for installation.

Just FYI...........that 15" dell shows is a spacer-adaptor (not just a spacer that tentster describes and that you have for your front). Just FYI.......some people will tell you that if you go beyond 10 or 15mm you should use an adaptor spacer for quality-safety-etc-etc.......rather than just a spacer & longer bolts that crank back to the OE hub.

Adaptors 1st bolt securly right onto the OE hub........the wheel then bolts onto the adaptor.

Personally I use some of both systems, depending on the car and my use / it's purpose.

Most people would not go to the bother.....for 1/4 inch.

I have the 5mm Porsche spacers all around. It helped the look just a bit despite still having 17"s on. I want to say if Porsche made a 7mm kit that might be perfect.

I run 17 mm on 18 inch wheels with just the longer lugs. Makes no difference which way you install them.

Newbie question on spacers ...

1) Is it more for cosmetic (wider look) reasons or more for stability (wider lateral base) ?

2) Any drawbacks ?

3) Anyone with photographs of the wheel spacers on a narrowbody 996 ?

thanks
Sid

my spacer look like this, with for the back spacers (which are 15mm) 2 holes to put screws in.

The front spacer are 7mm and should be good with longer bolts, I guess...but don't really know.

My question how do I use the bolts that come with the spacers..
