i used the forward facing porsche seat that comes in 2 parts seat + back and the back can be taken off just leaving a booster seat for kids over abt 4 yrs - found the seat badly made and didnt have confidence that it was safe - the back was for ever comming disconnected from the seat as only was held by 2 plastic pins (had porsche re-do it to make sure it wasnt just me). also worth checking local laws here and in france kids not allowed to sit in front seat of car under think the age of 7 (or around that size)- what the regs are for 2 seaters dont know

FWIW Britax has a new "booster" seat design with large side bolsters coming soon, looks pretty good on their web site.
