Funny parking lot story/rant

Here's where your story went south for me:
If you had said "other people's vehicles", I'd be right there with you. It's too snobbish for me. I mean, the kid who works his butt off for, say a nice little Honda, keeps it clean and nice, and cares about it, doesn't deserve the same respect as a high and mighty Porsche owner?
Look here, not everyones car is a piece of **** like yours, please take time to respect real vehicles.

Definitely too snooty for my taste. I drive a 93 ford taurus in the winter in chicago that's probably worth $750. And let me tell you I can afford to buy many 997s's over and over again. I'm always careful parking my beater next to a nice car out of respect from what I have. You never know who's in that beater. You accomplished one of two things: you got someone really pissed off or you made them feel like ****. If the guy did no damage to your car, which he didn't, you have no right to put crap like that on his car. If he dented your car, that's another story. It's America, and you have to be accepting of the 99.5% of vehicles that are ****, or soon they'll all try and make yours look like ****.
Having more money to buy nice cars unfortunately doesn't give you power.

So quick to criticize, aren't we? I'm taking Vulture's side too. Unfortunately, we have to live in society where people have no respect for themselves, their belongings or anyone elses. They drive crap to match thier crappy lives and have no idea how much sweat and care we put into our cars. Fortunately, I haven't been upset enough to leave a note. If I did, I'd probably mess with their mind by scaring the crap out of them, hoping they'd think twice before repeating their rudeness. Maybe putting a note on their car stating they dented your Porsche with an estimated repair cost of $1200. Say you took pictures of the location and proximity of both cars and your lawyer would be in contact with them. Based on thier insensitivity, they probably wouldn't know if they dented your car or not. Nervously waiting for your call, they'd probably be sure not to take a chance like that again, whether it was your Porsche or anyone elses.

Get over yourselves. It's America. It's filled with white trash, Mexican illegals, and other dirty lowlife citizens. And it's also the greatest place in the world to live. Don't buy a $100K car and suddenly expect everybody to bow down before you and move out of your way. If you think they care about you and your stupid letters, wake up. Your litigation costs will be more than the effort and cost to repair the vehicle. It's only a car. I'd hate if someone ruined mine right away MORE THAN ANYTHING, but that's what you're going to get when you drive something that cost more than 3 years of per capita earnings after taxes for an average citizen.
If we don't like it we should move to Dubai.

oh, forgot to to add, their may be some assumptions being made about the person and the car, but I'd say thay are warranted, considering the insensitive parking. A beater car would be welcome if it was parked a reasonable distance away. Again, it's not about the car, it's about the action. Putting the two together paints a probable picture of the person.

I'll definately agree the note could have been phrased better. However, I'll also admit, in my lifetime, I've lost my temper to the point of using derogatory comments like that. (Not in a note, but in general) I'm not proud of it, but it would be hypocrical for me to criticize. Therefore, I chose to support his frustration and try to imagine what I would have done in the same situation.
Have you guys ever noticed if you park your Porsche several spots away from all the other cars in the parking lot, it doesn't take long for someone to park RIGHT NEXT TO YOU, even though there are many other more convenient options available? I'd swear Porsche's have parking magnets built in them. On the other hand, it's actually understandable. People know a Porsche owner isn't going to ding thier door. If I have to make a choice, I catch myself parking next to the nicest car available, knowing they will be as respectful as I am.

I can also admit the note could have been phrased better but it was fueled by anger. Now, more calm, I think I bugged out a little but still ..the car was a piece of crap, not because it was cheap, because the owner had it dented on every side and it was dirty as sin. I was parked in the far corner and we were the only 2 cars in the area. I am 5'11" 175 lbs and I could not get into my car. There was no reason what so ever to park so close. I'm not a snob and the dollar was my way of laughing it off.

I'm with Vulture. Sure, everyone has a right to drive their car and park their car, but that person showed a complete lack of respect against another person's car, regardless of what that car is. Sometimes when I'm not driving the Porsche I drive a Honda -it's old, it's got car door dings, and yes, that stuff happens. But when a person parks so close that you can't get out, that person is either being an *** or is completely ignorant . Why should we not say something? Just keep our mouth shut so as not to be disrespectful? They're the disrespectful ones and they deserve to be told so. The matter of the confrontation differs with every person, but that's really irrelevant. The matter is that they are told.
I am sick and tired of people saying it's rude to confront someone when they deserve to be. That is why they keep doing it, because they know people won't say anything. Cheers to you Vulture for saying something!

I walked down from my office to the parking garage in my work building this afternoon. What do I see???? A filthy dented Toyota minivan parked 10 inches from my car. I could not even get into my car, I am not sure how the driver got out without denting my car.
I also want to keep my cars in pristine condition, so I understand your initial concern. IMO however, as soon as you saw that there was no damage to your car, you should have uttered a couple expletives to relieve the stress and then drove off. By writing the note you are going down a path to an unknown destination. The note you wrote was way over the top and if I were you I wouldn't take my Porsche to work for a while. Otherwise a damaged Porsche could be the least of your worries.

I know no Porsche driver - myself included - can claim to be a tree hugger but washing the poor car that often is simply wasting water. I'd mark you down on being inconsiderate here. (be careful you don't fade the paint)
Also there is no law about driving a clunker, no law about parking next to your scrubbed car, no law about the space he/she should leave you to get in, etc....
I recommend you should post a list of acceptable cars in your window when you park and give a recommended distance based on how much space you need to get your slim and graceful figure into your Porsche

V,
I understand the frustration on your part but if I drive a piece of **** minivan and a Porsche driver leaves that note on my windshield I will scan parking lots looking for P-cars to park next to. No damage to your car so don't damage the emotions of someone less fortunate cause next time they will ding your car on purpose.
