Default Help me price my 03 C2?

We have reached the point where we are getting serious about a new 997/997S purchase. We really enjoy the 996, but I'm looking forward to ordering a new car with exactly the options I want. So I could use some help with a fair price for the 996. Here's the breakdown:

2003 996 C2
Seal Grey metallic
Black leather
18,300 miles

PSM
Bi-xenon
Bose
Power seats w/memory
Heated seats
Auto-dimming mirrors
Rain sensing wipers
18" turbo style wheels
New (~2000 miles) PS2 rear tires / front Conti's have 50+% tread
Aero kit side skirts
OEM Tequipment rear wing

The body is in excellent shape (no dings), paint is in good shape (smooth, glossy, typical daily-driver chips and nicks). Interior is in good shape (no tears, worn areas. Passed PPI in December with RMS replaced and VarioCam seals changed - also received 15k service at that time with zero issues.

KBB private party value is $52,530 (good) or $55,185 (excellent).
Edmunds private party price is $52,222 (clean) or $54,201 (outstanding).

Neither price includes anything for the side skirts or wing since I didn't feel I could mark it as "aero kit" even though the dealer marked it as such.

So what is a fair price? The car still has factory warranty until 12/06, and 3 yrs/75k extended from EasyCare is just under $2k (https://rennlist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246784). I prefer a good starting price that I can stick to without a lot of haggling since I consider it a waste of time.

Help me Rennlisters. You're my only hope.

41 views and not a single comment? Is $55,000 too high of a starting point?

I think 55K is a very good starting point since the P is an 03 and has low mileage...but selling privately means having to give an incentive! and depending on your need to sell I would price it lower. If you have time....make it $57 so it leaves you room to negotiate.

All the nice additions don't make you P more valuable...I am going to have to same problem, when selling mine..front facelift, rear turbo bumper, lowered and interior upgrade, sports exhaust next week, 10K in all....bought mine for 42+tax 7 months ago (99) and don't expect to get more than $35 when selling it......so I am going to keep it even when buying a other P.

The market always determines the price - just as with real estate. $55K sounds fair, but the selling price will depend on how many shoppers there are for this car at the time you are selling. If there's only one person in your area that wants the car, they'll tell you how much they're willing to pay and if you don't like it you will be keeping the car - know what I mean?

The comments here that cool options don't really add to the price are probably true to a degree, but they will make it a lot easier to sell, or attract more shoppers. Good luck!

Thanks guys, that's what I was looking for - an honest opinion on what's realistic.

Based on what I see around here, 996 prices have fallen some now that there are more 997's out there. A dealer will get $53K-$55K for your car. Selling it yourself you will probably be closer to $50K, but the extended warranty may be an attraction to some. The dealer will probably offer you around $47K as a trade.

On the new car you should get $4K off. I have a friend who got that ordering an 06' Carrera. There are some consistant trends you will see with these and sports cars and convertibles in general yearly. Values always stabilize or move up in the late spring, summer and early fall. Prices consistantly fall in the fall, winter and early spring. This means the best time to buy is in the winter and the best time to sell is in the summer.

I agree, and thanks 02. The car is now up for sale in the F/S forum.
