Exclamation Driver inside door handle does not open door?

Anyone ever seen this problem before? My inside driver-side door pull handle will not open the door when I pull it to get out. Bizarre... I even cycled the lock/unlock button. Nada. So I had to roll down the driver's window and pull the exterior driver's side handle to open the door. Is there, by chance, a fuse to check and replace? Or, does the car need to go into the dealership for service?

Thanks,
Mark

so, is the door handle unhooked on the inside? if not, the actuator switch is broken.

Mark,

There should be nothing electrical that would prevent your opening the door with a handle. If so, a dead battery could trap you in the car.

I once removed my door panel to replace a window regulator. I believe I found instructions to remove the door panel on the internet somewhere. It is a very simple job and only takes about 10 minutes. My guess would be that you somehow lost the rubber gasket that connects the handle to the opening bar and it just slipped out. When you pull on the handle slightly, does the window go down a little bit? The mechanism to open the door is mechanical, so I don't think there is an electrical problem that you are looking at.
