I've read about the recent problem regarding a limited number of 02 C4S trasmission failures. I recall one writer stating Porsche thought it was with some cars deliver in June.

A C4S I'm looking at was delivered in June. Does anyone know if Porsche has identified the limited number of possible candidates for transmission failure. I have the car's VIN# and am hesitant to purse it any further at this time. When I asked my salesperson about the possible problem he claimed to know nothing about it.

Can or will Porsche determine if the specific car I'm looking at is equipped with one of the transmissions in question?

The way I understood the posts, it's luck of the draw. Not all June deliveries have the problem, but it appears that those that do were June deliveries. Build dates are probably mre acccurate, but I doubt that it will foretell whether ypu will ahve a problem or not.

Lucas was kind enough to post PAG and PCNA's phone numbers. Call them to find out. If a dealer has not dealt with this tranny BS, they will not know about it.

Surely somebody there would be able to tell you!
