Default diy center caps for aftermarket wheels?

Hi I know Ralph boothe makes amazing center caps for hre fikse etc...
but has anybody tried a cheaper alternative. I remember someone had dremeled some holes in his oem caps to mount them.
I am thinking of sticking these silver crests off ebay on my blank caps and clear coating.
Is this a bad idea, any suggestions. Thanks

I posted a pic of the wheel and the adhesive silver crest.

If I am not mistaken that is exactly what Ralph Boothe does albeit a little more professional. I have his center cap jewely pieces and love them. Totally worth the money. Basically a really nice heavy duty locking cap with a recessed crest mounted.

The analogy I would make here is like the people that are making the fake PSE mufflers. Close but not exactly the same but if it makes you happy and is acceptable to your quality then go for it!

Thanks LVDell,
I would guess that ralph cuts into the crest to make it sit flush like the oem stuff.
I think I will give it a try, i am also gonna paint the cap black to match the rest of the wheel.
I dont like how the aftermarket wheels keep a silver/chrome center on their painted wheels.
If I dont like the way it looks I will be out $30 and will just end up buying ralph's caps.

I'll have to go check out mine but I don't think there is ANY cutting of the crest but rather a recess on the cao that is goes in that makes it sit flush. It's some real quality work.

Maybe this will help.... These are from Ralph. Glad I got them before he had to stop making silver ones.

Not likely unless you get ahold of 4 silver crests that Ralph used and then order them (the center caps) from him and replace the crest. Not somthing that you would want to do cost-wise but can be done.
