Replacing 1 or both front tires

Replacing 1 or both front tires
Car was drifting right...alignment checked out, so swapped the front two tires. Now it's drifting left. Tires have approx 7K on them.
Can I get away with just replacing that one (now isolated) faulty tire since the mileage is relatively low? Or do both need to be swapped out simultaneously?

I think you should be okay. Generally rule is you'd want to replace both if they are 30%+ worn. The fronts should last over 25k mi so 7k is not significant wear. You should have some tire warranty. If so, you can get credit since this is a tire defect. Check with dealer or tire shop where you bot the car or tires.

Tires usually pull (drift) from uneven wear from "too much" camber. When a tire is worn more on the inside, the circumference of the tire is smaller on the inside part of the tread. This will make the tire roll a curved path. If both front tires have equally uneven camber wear the right and left drift will cancel out and the car will track straight. Check your tires tread depth on the inside vs. outside. If you replace 1 tire and the remaining tire has uneven tread wear it will still pull.

I would change both, especially the front tires...since P's are so sensitive in the front...I had a big screw in my rear tire after owning the P for a week and replaced both rear tires, just to be safe.
