Not sure what you mean. The stickers, such as tire pressure, a/c system, smog, have part numbers and you can buy the stickers. My front hood was replaced and I told the body shop to order the 2 stickers that go under the hood as a new hood does not come with the stickers. Also had my option sticker put on the new hood. Jeff

My guess is that musicmovesme is a BMW owner. They have VIN stickers on all removable panels, that when replaced are obviously no longer there. It makes spotting a bent Bimmer easier.
AFAIK, Porsche uses no similar system.

ettsn,
thanks for the response but No I'm not a BMW owner I'm actually a 2k c2 owner. I was just curious about a way the common everyday guy could check for orginal body parts. I have a buddie who is looking at 99's and this came up in conversation.

my 951 has these decals - they have the VIN on them (i believe) and i can see them on the tops of the front fenders, under the hood, among other places - maybe they don't do it anymore, tho....
