Cool

depends on the conditions in which u drive. If you live in a dry dusty area, more often. I used to clean mine in my old car every 6 mos. Probabably more than neeeded. Just remember that after you clean it, when you oil it, be very sparing with the oil. Over oiling it will lead to the oil cloggin your mass air sensor. Read the instructions in the cleaning kit carefully. It may be easier and some people just throuw them out after a year and buy a new one, factory pre-oilled.

I have KandN's in my BMW 850 CSI. The instruction sheet and the factory service rep say no more often than 50,000 miles.
It's pretty easy to just pull the filter and look at it. If you have lots of trapped debris, I'd say clean it. If not, leave it alone. AS

Leave it. K&N actually works a little better after it gets some dirt (it helps it trap more dirt). As in the previous post, K&N recommends every 50-100k unless you are using your Porsche for the Baja 1000. Cleaning and oiling degrade the life of your filter. They are only made to be cleaned 10-12 times.

Not sure about BMC.
