I have been looking at a few 996's that have chrome wheels. Nothing wrong with the wheels (18", good shape) but I don't really like the chrome. Can these be painted silver or would I have to get new wheels?

Eric,
anything special need to be done or just take them to a high end body shop?
Also, should I expect a few hundred per wheel to paint?
Thanks,
Mark

Which wheel is this? Some are painted with a chrome finish.
Either way, it can be stripped with sand blasting and repainted. Plan to spend about $100 per wheel. Take it to a wheel shop to do this.

You can get a very good set of stock wheels as-is, pretty cheap on these porsche web sites. Or ebay. I would think you can find any style they make with out the chrome and pay less to get them. I have a set of C4S solid turbo twist wheels w/tires to sell. With under 10,000 mi. In great condition.
