Of course, there is nothing whatsoever wrong with using a C4S as a dual purpose car. The limits of the car will be higher than the limits of most, if not all, of the drivers on this forum. I mean, until I got into the white run group, I was using a Targa for DEs, and a blinged out Targa at that! Nonetheless, if someone is asking, then we need to be honest about the real downsides to the many upsides of the C4s Every car has them . . .

You can't be talking about ME with this one. Since getting the '44, I have become, out of necessity, very proficient at giving point bys. Surprisingly though, I have to give fewer and fewer as I learn to stop using my brakes. Just wait until I end my self-imposed exile in the low-HP gutter and drive a high HP car exactly the same way I am learning to momentum drive the '44 . . . then YOU will have to exercise those point-by manuevers yourself

Right now I am working on increasing my corner entry speed and left-foot braking

I live in Chicago and my C2 is my daily driver. It works great in the winter (with snow tires)!!

If I were you, I'd make decision based on driving dynamics rather than on foul weather capability. The C4 or C4S will obviously be superior in nasty weather, but the C2 works very well (the rear weight bias really helps here) when the weather is bad.

Everyone here has there own preferences and opinions (which can usually be discovered with a quick glance at the "signature") but keep this in mind Porsche didn't make any sloppy handling 996's.

In my opinion there is a reason that Porsche only offers the GT2/GT3 in RWD, but you really should decide for yourself (sorry, I couldn't resist ).

Seriously, drive them both and decide!! Whatever you chose you can't go wrong.

Perhaps, but I got $500 that says I can get from Columbus Circle to Battery Park faster than you sissy track rats. If you don't have cab drivers and pedestrians, where's the sport??
