36/36 Recommended?
I've searched this topic, and have seen it's been touched on in the past...but I can't locate a solid resolution.
The manual states 36/36 as recommended pressure...but it seems odd to run identical front and rear when the rears are larger tires.
Thoughts?

I've got a 99 C2...but I believe the original manual was lost, and the previous owner purchased one after the fact. (it's not specific to the C2, rather it lists all 99 Porsches at 36/36)
What do you folks run? Or can anyone with an original manual specific to the 99 quote it for me?
thanks

If you are running 18x8.5s on the fronts, the recommended pressure is 36 psi (2.5 bar).
If you are running 18x10s on the rears, the recommended pressure is 44 psi (3.0 bar).
I do not know about other rim/tire sizes.

I've run the recommended 44 psi in the rear on my previous 993 and now my 996 and after several months, I see the classic signs of overinflation where the center portion of the tread is worn more that the outer edges. I've since reduced the pressures to 40 psi without any discernible difference in ride or handling. I am monitoring the wear pattern.

For the 17s it says 36/36. Try what the manual says. If you like how it handles but want it harder, raise the pressures by the same amount all around. If you want softer lower them by the same amount all around. If you want more oversteer, raise the front, if you want more understeer raise the back.

Thanks all...I'll probably stick with the 36/36 in that case. Still don't quite understand how that's possible, given the rears are larger, but who am I to argue with the manufacturer.
Thanks

Here's what I run:
225/35/18 (38 city driving 38-39HOT at the track)
285/30/18 (42 city driving 38-39HOT at the track)
YMMV....but I have been tweaking and tweaking till I found the "perfect" for me solution.
