Question GT3 MKI front bumper, center cover? Pros/Cons?

I have the Aero Kit I (GT3 MKI) front bumper and side skirts. I read a post whereby Dell had installed a lower lip and really like the look. So, as I'm reading his thread about this install, I noticed something that made me curious.

Check out the two photos below.

The top one has a cover in the front bumper in the center position that I have circled (begging your permission, Dell, I used your photo since I don't have one of mine from that angle...but let me know if you're bothered and I'll pull it). Dell's actually looks nicer than mine since it's painted the color of the car while mine is black plastic.

Now, check out the bottom picture (borrowed from a post on Renntech). It is missing the center cover...or is it supposed to be? Frankly, it looks pretty nice, but is there a reason it was removed, or never came that way in the first place?

What are the pros and cons of having this cover in the center of the aero kit I bumper? Thanks.

Is it really missing the center "cover" or is the "grille" simply covering it?

In any case my factory GT3 aerokit's center opening is covered.

Maybe a center radiator, useless for most, has been added?

That middle section is for the 3rd radiator opening. I ordered mine closed (but can easily remove it) since I do NOT have the 3rd radiator. Had I installed (or if I do) the 3rd radiator I would definitely remove the center piece.

Oh, yes, you have my permission to post that pic. By the way, the other car is Loren's car (owner of Renntech.org)

Edward - Man, don't start that topic again! Remember the rear wheel "offset" issue?

Seriously, I agree with you! His car does look good and I like the wheels, too!
