Need a hood and front bumper, anyone have spares, or know a source?
I dove under the bumper of a SUV in the snow (summer tires are deadly, duh).
I was only going about 1-2 Mph by the time I kissed it, but the damage was done, and only on my car. Big gouge in the bumper cover, and a nice wrinkle on the tip of the hood. It has been a bad day. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

E-bay is a good place to start. However, shipping these items can be a problem. The least expensive way is via bus. Whatever method chosen, be sure the bumper is not bent or unbent, by that I mean stretched to compact it or straightened to fit in a box. The material is not particularly strong and tiny tears will appear quickly. For the hood, you might also try a great 996 recycler in CA, called LAPorsche. I think the website is www.911pcar.com. I have bought over $10K of 996 parts from them and can recommend them. These cars are fast and are wrecked often. Lots of parts are available. Incidentally, I have a good turbo front bumper if anyone needs one.

What year and color 996. I'm putting an aerokit nose on mine soon and will have a bumper available. Mine is a white (repaintable) 2003 (fits 02/03) with 1300 miles so its basically mint. As for a hood, I plan to keep mine. What about that new carbon fiber one for $700? Is it cheaper than a factory one? Its lighter and can be painted. I can't switch mine as it would bump me in racing classes. Email me if your interested.

Is it possible to update the front end of my 99 C4 to the turbo/late model look? More than anything I like the fact that it is immediately distinguisgable as a 911 not a Boxster, but aside from the lights and the bumper I'm not sure whats different.
Waht do you want for the bumper?
Thanks,
Matt

You can do the turbo front end if you also change the front fenders to the '02 spec. Obviously you would also be getting the newer headlights and some minor trims.
Unfortunately the very nice factory turbo rear wing does not fit the narrow-body cars.

Hey Sojahseh, for your 99 coup[e you have quite a few options if you want to go turbo look. Geddydesign.com, mashaw.com , gemballa.com , or by design in california. The factory aero is a nice way to distinguish your car from a boxster. Also get a magazine called excellence and you will find many, many suppliers that offer the items you are looking for. HTH Dave

I was just going to suggest the same thing if you are going to do insurance work. Replace the fenders, hood and lights. There is a company that was listed before that has everything as a kit and from what I remember is pretty reasonable. You can also find all of the parts as suggested on ebay or otherwise, but that would be pretty kewl.
