Default New 996 Cab owner as of yesterday...

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been planning this puchase for years as I had many milestones to achive first. This site has been tremendous in helping me out. Anyway, I picked up a 6 speed 2001 triple black cabriolet on saturday. For me it's my first Porsche so I am in heaven. It's a CPO car so I can rest easy. More to come as I tip toe past the dogs to sit in the car and figure out all the gadgets. Man, I had no idea!

You guys are rough! I'll get pics this week. Meanwhile, I need all weather protection while the garage area is under construction. I live in the North East so weather can be anything.

I originally wanted a coupe, but my wife was insistant on the cab. I caved and am happy as hell about it.

Thanks for the link. I live in a wooded area so everything will land on the paint. Pollen, bird stuff, etc... The dealer tossed me a boxster cover but it doesn't really fit because of the aero kit. Almost, but not quite.

get either weathershield or evol 4. weathershield will be a lot less bulky and easier to wash the cover itself.

SRVblue - Welcome and CONGRATS on getting your P-car! It sounds like a nice looking car, but of course, we can't tell without pics! I know, you said they are comming, but we can't welcome newbies without giving them a little grief about pics.

Do you plan to do any mods? If so, we will be glad to help you spend your money... er, I mean... glad to make recommendations!

Welcome aboard SRVblue and congrats. Are you anywhere near Cape Cod? Hope your ride came with a h/t. It's a bitch to keep the soft top clean.

Trip Black... Can't wait to see pics!

Like Gota911 said, we'll be glad to help you with mods when you settle in. We'll also advise you on how to go about telling your wife why you are doing this and that to the car!

Rest easy, obviously you've never tried to use a CPO warranty
