Close-up of one of the subs. I think the custom enclosure looks pretty stock. BTW, all of this work was done by the famous Rod Birch in Roseville CA.

ah man! Now I have to take a shower! hehe. How doe those focals sound with such little power? Are you running them at 4 ohm with that power to them or did you bridge them on the amp? I was told that the focals are much like the boston pros and are very power hungry and that's why I opted to consider the mb quarts more as they would better match the power of the amp. Let me konw I am very interested!

I would have to guess on the answer to your bridging question since I wasn't there during the install, so instead I am going to suggest that you direct the question to Rod at Car Audio Innovations, who did all the work (800-892-6430). I guess I should provide the usual disclaimer here that I have no involvement with Rod in any capacity other than satisfied customer.

I can say that the sound is fantastic, both the highs and the lows, but especially the highs, which in my opinion contribute a lot more to the overall listening experience than the bass. I have cranked the system up to levels likely to cause hearing damage with no evidence of clipping or distortion, so even though the Focals are notoriously power-hungry, the ARC seems more than up to the chalenge. Particlularly important when you are doing 165 mph with the top down. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Here is a picture of where everyting goes, which is actually from Rod's site. Rod made a removable carpeted shelf with a cutout which fits flush with the top of the amp so in use things are a little tidier than shown, but the Pioneer head unit is still HUGE (the only thing I liked better about the Alpine was the head unit size).

Pretty encouraging! I have already gotten my amp, and have removed my spare, I have a c2, and am going to mount it there to keep space! I need room for groceries after all! heheh. I think I might just go with the focals after all, I can always bridge the amp down if they need more power. I can't wait. I have to call Bekker and get the harnesses, but after that it will all be done in about 2 hours, other than the sub, which I will do later, (have to go to dad's house to build that). Anyone know where to get Porsche carpet? Thanks. Does that place that you use audio innovations sell those cool speaker grills for the subs by themselves? I really like those, but I think I can do everything else myself. Thanks Sean

Alrigth alright! I have now officially been brainwashed and am going all Focal! I think I am going to go with the 103v's in the dash and the 100hc's in the rear and maybe even a focal sub? Anyone know about focal subs or can recommend a good sub? I was thinking about going with a Jl, but which one? I will have about 150 @ 4 ohms to give it which is plenty. Thanks all. Sean

So, I can fit the 5 1/4ers in the front dash then? along with the tweeters? I have seen them done on a boxter with the same grills etc. Thanks.

Ok, I just opend up the dash. First off I don't even have separates in there! Second off they are some junk nokia speakers? How cheap can Porsche go! After further scrutiny it appears that thinking about putting 5 1/4's in there is a joke! Has anyone done this and do they have pics of the back of the speakers on the panel? I have only seen the 4 inchers on the back epoxied to the panels with components. It appears I will have to revamp my ideas now and go with 4" components in the dash. aaarggghhh
