Default Hard Top Storage?

Anyone have a decent way to hang the hard top from the garage wall? I'm not looking for a hoist or an overhead unit. The last time I was at the dealer I saw a tubular metal frame that hung the hard top from the rear connector points but I can't find one on the web to compare prices.

Unfortunately there is no floor space left around the walls (and I need to keep it out of the range of the curtain climbers bikes) hence the need to get it on the wall.

Do you mean from the wall or the ceiling?
As far as wall mounted solutions go, Porsche has one. It may be the one that you saw at the dealer since it's tubular and has the hardtop hanging from the rear connecor points. The part # is 000.044.000.76. It's the one I just installed this afternoon in my garage (haven't hung the hardtop on it yet). I bought mine from Sunset.
As far as hoist or ceiling hung solutions, do a search. A few threads back had some info on a hoist solution with some Rennlist preferential pricing.

Porsche has a wall mount hardtop storage unit that works just great. Just stick it in an unused closet!

Orient,
That looks like the one I saw a the dealer. Did you get it through the dealer or on line? Jedier, is this one similar to the one you got from Sunset? (I didn't have any luck searching their site using the part number).

Any luck finding the wall mount?
I have not called sunset yet, but have not seen this storage unit anywhere.
Also saw a posting for a bag, for the top, that hangs from the wall. Cannot find that either
Originally was going for the EZTop hoist, but am afraid I do not have enough room for proper installation. They claim i need 36" clearance.

OE did the wall mount come with the closet, lol?

I found it at Sunset for $255 + S/H. They did not have any in stock so it will ship on the 30th (about a two week back order). I had the same problem with the EZ Top Hoist. I did not order the cover but probably will at some point in the future.

That's the one we have, and the bill from Porsche Zentrum Frankfurt indicates part 000 044 000 39, but that's not the one shown on the Porsche web sites, either USA or Deutschland.

I thought I would bring this link back to life.
Does any one have pictures of the hard top wall mount?
Only thing I can find is a wall mount from Suncoast for a Boxster hardtop - but does not have any details.
I figure if i cant find one to buy, I can make one - if I can find pictures on how it mounts to the top and wall.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can build a nice electric one for under $100 right now. Harbor freight has a sale on a hoist for $49. That with some plumbing supplies and a couple of straps will make one that will allow you to remove/replace the top by yourself, and store it at the ceiling.

Check out this thread. The Hoist is one sale for $49. I put it into the celing to get more head room.

Thanks, but i am not interested in a hoist, i am looking at hanging the hardtop on the wall, to save floor space in the garage.
Wife does not like the idea of it hanging from the ceiling (with the kids around).
I found it at Suncoast:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...y_Code=996_cab
I am interested in how it attaches to the hardtop - looks like straps that connect to the hardtop and then hangs on a bar.
If would like to see a few pictures of the actual hardware (while hanging would be best), to see if i can make one.

Did you look at the thread? it has pics. I just got a flyer that advertised these for $49.00.

Seems like the ceiling would be farther away than the wall.
