Installation of 996.36.24.36 or 996.36.50.50 is expensive especially with the diamond option. You should also be aware that if you install either 996.36.24.36 or 996.36.50.50 with the diamond option and then get tired of it or don't like it... trying to change/switch it out or have it uninstalled is a very expensive and time consuming project inwhich you will likely want to pay a professional to handle vs. DIYing. Also getting a used 996.36.50.50 may be less expensive initially but you never know how the previous owner treated or maintained it. Therefore a very thorough PPI is recommended and possibly some type of aftermarket buyers protection/return policy is recommended. Remember always get the newest model you can afford

Mine does it too and my 89 928 that I just sold did it also. I just figure that in PLand some things don't change. As for part #996-36-24-36 I think I will go by the stealer and order one this week and see if you boys know what you are talking about

You gentlemen have missed the point again, always focusing on quick fixes while neglecting the true issue at hand. You shouldn't be attempting to eliminate the seat vibration by installing Porsche part # 996.36-24-36. The vibration was a passenger comfort option intentionally engineered into the natural frequency of the interior cabin to work in conjunction with Porsche part # 996.36.24.36.

My 996 is experiencing the same passenger seat vibration at idle, along with the "check engine" light being on.
Recent diagnosis by Porsche dealer is that one of the camshaft chain tensioners is malfunctioning, affecting the timing on one side of the engine, causing the three cylinders on that side of the engine to misfire. The misfiring (so slight that you'd hardly notice it) and the resulting impact on the engine seem to be causing abnornal engine vibration that's traveling into the passenger compartment/passenger seat.
If this is all true, then the vibration is not normal.
