Default cpo warranty

I thought I understood how these work but I guess I was wrong. There is a saab dealer that has a '99 996 for sale and I am considering it. They say it's a cpo'd car but I was under the impression that the CPO warranty wouldn't transfer if the car was sold though a auto dealer (other than a P-car dealer). Also, the warranty is set to expire in a few months...is there any way to extend them?

thanks

Mark

no, you can't extend cpo warranty unless it's resold thru a p dealer. cpo is transferrable to new owner, not sure if a sale thru used car dealer would void it. i doubt it.

Only 2 ways to get a CPO car:
1. From a Porsche dealer
2. From a private individual that has a CPO'd car for sale

That's it! The SAAB dealer is asking for trouble the first time that car is taken in for service at the Porsche dealer and denied. Can anybody say impending lawsuit???

I'm not sure about the warranty, but if this is the car that you are talking about...

....I have seen it in person and it is a nice clean car (no affiliation).

I could also reccommend a couple mechanics for PPI if you are interested.

thanks jcalhoun, that is the car. I will have to discuss the warranty a little more with them.

Thanks,

Mark

Did you read the ad? The CPO (which we know is NOT transferable) expires anyway in less than 8 weeks. Not worth it. Now if you could get the 2 yr/100K total mile CPO that would be a better deal. Does this dealer sell Porsches as well (authorized)? If they do, then have then re-CPO the car.
