Great. This topic degenerated from mindlessly sexist to racist.

Khalid, sorry to say this, but you made your own bed when you "got so mad" at the lights flashing. And you really asked for trouble when you "flashed" your brakes. You got the trouble you asked for ... deal with it. Believe me I'm not above this behavior, but at least I admit that it's childish and don't ask for undeserved sympathy.

Well I'm still pretty new to this forum but have been on rennlist in one way or another for a number of years and just about every forum/ list has similar kinds of dumb outburst every now and then so it was just a question of time I guess. Mostly perfectly decent folks just saying stuff they really didn't intend to come out the way it appears to others. Best to just drop it and forget it I would say. May I suggest this is the last post on this particular thread.

Khalid,
Did you try to pick her up at the police station? Pretty 25 year old, she could have just totaled my car and I would still be going for the digits (and her insurance info). I'm really addicted!

I agree that it's just stupid people in general no particular type etc. I had this happen to me unfortunately I didn't get the plate however and it both infuriated and scared the hell out of me at the time, ( I was like 16). Hence the maximium punishment sought etc. I do agree however that the behavior is inappropriate and should face some criminal sanction to some extent.

I'm not being racist, just expressing my observations. There are obviously exceptions to every generalization. But generalizations make a fun discussion.

Not too many years ago they were riding bikes or donkeys? That has to be one of the most ignnorant statements that I have seen on this board since it started.

It dissappoints me that I see you have posted a number of times already on Rennlist, which would indicate that you should know about the etiquette on this board. How about leaving the play ground talk to the play ground.

What's with all the politically correct liberals on this board?

The biggest problem with society today is that no one has a fricking sense of humor anymore.

Harold, obviously, you haven't seen pictures of Korea before the Korean War. The modern industrialization of eastern asia has happened mostly in the last 40 years. That's not a long time.

You remind me of the kids in college that join these Asian Student Union groups to claim that they are being oppressed by Abercrombie and Fitch or the Gap because they don't have asian models or a proliferation of Asian sales clerks. HELLO!!! WHO REALLY CARES!!! Asians are the top earning minority in the U.S. and some of the wealthiest people on earth, so get over it already. Or join that idiot Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition.

I'm oriental, so I make no apologies for making fun of my own race. If you don't find humor in some of the crazy **** that us gooks do, then you obviously have no sense of humor.

Minorities need to stop blaming racism and stereotyping for all their problems. Really, the whole world is not against you. People are often stereotyped because they present themselves as a quintessential example of that stereotype. When given enough samples of experience of a given group, the natural human inclination is to form a general conclusion. Yes, this is how humans make decisions and judgments.

Oh and by the way, even if Koreans were riding bikes, horses, and donkeys, unlike Singapore at least Korea doesn't publicly cane people. They just send them to prison and if you're rich enough, you just buy your way out. Democracy at its best.

BTW, none of this changes the fact that the best drivers in the world are European men. Look at the Formula 1, WRC, or any other international race car series. Much of this has to do with training.

gs, i have simply taken a poll. it's nothing racist or opinionated...just facts as i've paid attention.

sure, generalizations are pathetic, but the fact that every single person over the past several weeks that has put my life in danger were young females has nothing to do with bigotry or sexism.

pete01_996 ,

i was trying to solve the situation by flashing my brake lights ... i was behind a car for about 6 meters .. doing 60-70 km/h and she is behind me for about one meter or less !!!!!! so if the guy in front of me hits the brake she will 98% hit my cars back (engine) .. so i flashed my brakes light so she keeps distance ..

we are in a country where people must respect others and its not a place where they can do trouble and get away with it .

and at the end she is a women she shouldnt do the kidish stuff .. sticking her car to my cars back .

---------

Am not mad now, am fine although i did not take the car to the repair yet
fixing will cost around $700 maximum but because the insurance is paying i will repalce all parts Fender + Bumber + rim .. which will all cost around $1,800

honestly people,
when i drive my car fast everybody gives way and no one gets in my way and when i drive slowly everybody wants me to give them way and thats alot of pain. so why bother .. from today no more driving slow.

I was really hoping that this post was going away, but since it keeps coming back to the top I'll add my $0.02...<rant mode turned ON>

Hamann7, There is a HUGE difference between SELF-deprecating humor and doing it at the expense of another. Blasting out negative barbs to 1000's of people you don't know and who don't know you is, simply put, bad manners. Had you said "I'm Asian and i think my mom is a lousy driver", you would have been more credible in your humor and it would be taken as such. Do you really want to make a negative impression on people that don't even know you? Your last post attempted an apology but really came off as a defensive explanation. Be accountable to yourself and try understanding the impact of your post instead of dismissing the responses you got as political correctness.

And IF you're now saying "I don't care what people think of what I'm saying cause I'm entitled to my own opinion and it's true anyway" then the members of this board will just have to deal with knowing a little bit more about you.

And for the record, while I have no recollection , I'm reasonably sure that at least once I've unwittingly left some distracted Asian mom (maybe trying to drive 5 screaming kids back from soccer practice) cursing about that a$$hole driving that Porsche too quickly. I'm guessing alot of heads are nodding. The P-car is by nature a personal egotistical experience particularly when driven hard. But it is not a license to drive in a selfish disrespectful unsafe way.

<ok rant mode OFF>

Khalid, while I'm pretty sure we have some significantly different views on society & politics, it has no bearing here. This board is just about cars. I'm sorry to see the pictures of your wounded Porsche, and I hope that you fix it better than new and are soon back on those fast fun and I hope safe roads. Regards.

BTW, your "fact" has more to do with access than training. Europeans have long had access to racing, race cars, training, etc. They are further along than other countries/races. Look at basketball in the 60's, baseball in the 70's and football in the 70's. Mostly caucasians then, not so now.

Yeah, but still not many asians in Major League Baseball, NBA, or NFL.

No country in Asia has a rigorous mandatory driving school like they do in Germany, for example. Actually, hardly any country does.

BTW, no one said Americans are good drivers... they can only bank left!

Just drive in Germany or Austria to see how bad we drive here in the US!
German tourists must go mad when they come over...

Yep, Europeans think driving in the States, especially California and Florida and New York, is hazardous. And you know what, it is!

BTW, I wonder what Saudi Arabia's accident rates are compared to the States. I have a feeling that it's lower per capita.

My wife is German and we go back quite often, but have lived in the US for the last 25 years. My wife would always say that Germans were such good drivers. However in recent years (and just a few weeks ago when we were over there) she now just says they are foolish and stupid.

I know how rigorous it is to get a driving license in Germany, but once they get it they quite often drive like fools, (and I'm not talking about on the Autobahn). Just imagine some twisty narrow country roads with loads of blind spots and some mad man trying to overtake you; it's German driving machine meets German tractor!

Having said that, I live in Florida and I think we take the prize for bad drivers. Also note the further you head south in Florida the worse it gets. Loads of "snow caps" down there piloting big Caddies.
