Again, Thank you for all the kind words! It's our honor to serve! I grew up(my young years in the navy) on that flight deck and still get the kicks after 20 years!

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Marines a part of the Navy? Don't you have to go to "their" Academy? Sounds a bit arrogant if you ask me, but then again I will never understand the psyche of the jarhead......ho-rah.

Obviously, I am j/k, I like to see the pride each of the services exhibit. And we need each and EVERY branch to do the job.

It struck me once watching a B-1 going vertical right over our heads at an airshow that jets are the real "big boy toys". 0-148 in 2 seconds kinda makes cars seem puny.

Thanks again for sharing and please pass on my thanks to your fellow crewmen.

Default Great shots Mike. What squadron are you in?

I spent 6 years in the Navy in two F/A-18 squadrons. I was in VFA192 and VFA97. I was an AT Troubleshooter and spent typically 12-14 hors a day on the deck when we were at sea. I had a great time and miss the adrenaline rush some times. I posted 1 pic of us working on the deck. Keep your head on a swivel and return home safe!

Mike: thank you and your family for the job you do. As an old HMCSW serving with the fleet and FMF I remain amazed by the support and strength of the family at home. Get in touch if you are ever in the Pacific Northwest.
