Default exhaust question

rumor has it that fabspeed exhausts are coming out of the far east is this true?

that would be somewhat disappointing. I really like supporting our USA made stuff.

Also I am not a competitor I have no desire for that deep pit of A/F parts.

Gee, really? Assuming you're a Porsche owner, you do know your car's not made in the USA.

That's not the issue. Joe always has that "Made in USA" banner and will bash foreign made competitors.

Ah, actually, that is the issue. Hard to trumpet the "Made in USA" position when you're tooling about in Stuttgart's finest....

So, besides Ruf and PAG, what exhaust is actually German or American made? GHL? Supersprint?
Or is everything 'polished' chinese?

No its not when you see the quality of the materials used in most Chinese fabricated parts. I see this crap come up every day buying machinery and piping for my Engineering projects

I agree with Shark on this one. Had I wanted chinese parts ,as opposed to American or German I could have contacted a company in Tiawan myself.

Question: were the Fabspeed exhausts *always* made in China? I was under the impression that in the beginning, they were mfg'ed in good ol' Ambler PA.

I guess we're talking past each other a litle bit. I'm not saying that you shouldn't PREFER parts that are made in the USA. I'm saying that it's kind of ridiculous to be one of those pro-USA blowhards who always screams about only buying stuff that's made in the USA and then drives around in a German made car.

For my part, I agree wtih you guys completely. I prefer and want German or American made parts my car; it's why I bought a Ruf exhaust, and why I'll go with the OEM RoW suspension and EVO intake.

SuperSprint, Eisenmann, JIC, Jubily, and a hand full of others are made over seas. B&B and GHL still make theirs here for sure. They are local to us. Same material is used overseas...just cheaper labor. Most parts are done like that now no matter what. Make your prototype here and send it! Unfortunately, when people bitch about price, that is why you see more Fabspeed sold then SuperSprint. They have the ability to make it cheaper.

Everyone has their preferences, i personally buy on quality, fitment and performance..
