Track drivers in the heat of the mid-atlantic area, US (nothing compared to August in Dubai however) are running Michelin Pilot Sports, Toyo's, and Kuhmo's. BFG KD's also seem popular. We will see air temps of 100 F or so with track temps being well above that. Pirelli's seem to wear too quickly and chunk if driven really hard. I have seen a few Yoko Avids and some SO-2's and 3's.
For the sustained heat of Dubai and the long, fast trip to Abu Dhabi, I might go for the Michelins.
Have no experience with Michelin tyres, but met someone from Michelin at the Porsche world tour.
He told me that Michelin tyres marked with N1 are specially developed for Porsche, so to watch out for that sign on the tyre.
My experience with Bridgestones on my boxster in a hot climate were very positive.Much better than the standard fitted Continentals
LOVE em for my street tires. Upon upgrading my 996 C2 brakes to turbo/GT3 brakes, the ABS would come on way too early (ie: exceeding tire grip faster than with stock brakes). After changing to the BF's, that problem was solved and lateral grip feels better as well.
"i know i am in the minority but i like the continental sport2 for the combination of wet traction and compliant ride in warm weather."
I liked em just fine until they were pushed and especially when they were pushed for a while. Great street tire though for diverse weather and luxury/performance balance.
