Wife hates the detector in the window. Been looking at remotes and K40 seems popular.
Any thoughts on the current generation of K40?
Can get it installed (Front/rear & laser diffuser) for $ 1800 - 2000. Is that in line?
Thanks

Yes, that price is in line. Put the remote in the ash tray with some back spacing. If you do a search, you may see my lousy pics. For $1800 you should get the blue LEDs mounted in the instrument cluster. It is a very slick set up and works very well. I put my V1 in my wife's Allroad but for a while ran both and performance was the same.

I had a K40 Calibre installed last week. The blue lights fit on either side of the computer readout below the tach (2001 C2). I very much like the overall look. We'll see how well it works!
Your pricing is about right.

I have a unit from 2001, you think it's still pretty effective?
The front antenna is mounted in the lower lip, doesn't pick up much. Do you guys have any idea what I need to do?

villajoe, does your system have a ****? for city/highway etc.? The new system is easier to install as only power at each end needs to be tapped into. I would go online and find a dealer/installer who can verify the functioning of your system. You may be able to add some components on for a few bucks if that is what you need to do.
