Security measures, theft rates
What have you guys done to protect your car from theft when you're not around, if anything? I park my car in a covered ungated area of my building that is alley side in Brentwood. Should I worry about it being stolen? What would you recommend in terms of security systems and/or devices?

I don't do anything in particular on either of my Porsches (one's a 996 Turbo, and the other a Boxster S). The factory alarm system and immobilizer are pretty good--statistically Porsches have a pretty low theft rate in part because there's not a huge market for parts, and they are tough to steal. I used to own a Jeep Wrangler, and that had a much higher theft rate, and the insurance premium reflected it.
The one thing I have done recently, is to lock my car keys in my safe--I started doing this because a friend's son had his apartment broken into and they took his keys and stole his car. Never really thought about it but all the stuff in my house is insured for replacement cost--I'd lose alot more if a buglar took off in one of my Porsches, so now the spare keys are safely locked away.
