New owner.............
Hello to everyone. I just purchased a 1999 yellow 996 with an aero kit, full 2 tone leather, 18" wheels, and about 10 other options. The vehicle is just awesome! Took it for a pre-inspection and came out fine. It has a Romulous aftermarket exhaust as well. I have some questions:
1) What is the largest tireI can put in back with the 18" option sport wheels?
2) What the heck is option code 236? Everyone tells me it doesn't exist. I'm reading the number right, nobody can seem to locate it....
I look forward to meeting some of the Illinois members very soon. Thanks!

First I love Speed Yellow... my first two Porsches were Speed Yellow.
1. I am running 285/30 x 18 S03's on the 10" wheel. If you follow the factory suggestions then that is it. I do know their are folks running 295... but at some point you are going to rub on suspension or outer fender.
BTW the 285/30 is about an 11.5" tread width on the 10 " wheel. A better investment (IMHO) in both handling and looks is to put wider wheels/tires on the front. I chose 8" wheels with 225/40 and that combo adds .75" and 4mm more offset. I really like the way my care handles with that combo.
2. I have the same 236 option on my list and I have not been able to find what it is either.
Let me know if you want some photos.

Loren, Thanks. Does your 996 have painted interior parts? I'm thinking that the 236 is related to them. Mine has the upper/lower colsoles and radio plate painted yellow. That's what I would guess the 236 option is.

Yes and no. They are Factory Sport Design's.
8 x 18" ET 52mm Front (7.5 x 18 ET 50mm is standard)
10 x 18" ET 65mm Rears
These are still factory but optional.
Perhaps your's are Sport Classic II's?
