hung with a Testarossa
yesterday coming up 287 in NJ I saw a Tetarossa (or maybe a 512TR, I couldnt tell) up a head, i quickly hopped in the left to pull up to take a better look. He moved in left as well and must have noticed me cause he floored it, and I quickly followed suit. From about 70 mph to 110 i hung on not losing or gaining an inch.
After that we slowed down as he started bearing left to get on 22 and I kept straight, we did a friendly wave.
I was surprised that I was able to hang with that V12 5 liter motor, that I believe is pushing 400+ hp. How much does one of those cars weigh? I would think that car could blow me away.

His foot was not on the floor or he would've left you pretty hard. Also, he might've just hit it in 5th gear without downshifting, which would give you the advantage since you were probably in your power band.

he definitly floored it, as you saw the car shoot forward like a rocket .. i must have been in the right gear

from what I hear, early model testarossa's are not fast at all...A chocolate colored one tried raced me in my SLK a few years ago, older model like the one Don Johnson used to drive. He was pulling, but nothing like I would expect. He must have stalled because suddenly he was coasting in neutral looking for a clean part of the shoulder to go on.
The 512 is definately a monster, but still cannot handle compared to a 996.
